Google Reader 創造者：我早知道它會被殺死
GigaOM 創辦人 Om Malik 訪問到了 Google Reader 的創造者 Chris Wetherell1，他說
自己其實有點驚訝這個產品可以活得那麼久，因為他一直都有 Google Reader 會被關閉
的心理準備：
When they replaced sharing with +1 on Google Reader, it was clear that
this day was going to come.
當他們決定將 Google Reader 的分享功能替換成 Google+ 的「+1」時，很明顯地這
天（指 Reader 被關閉）即將到來。
Om Malik 認為 Google 從來不曾相信過 Google Reader 這項產品，Google 從 2005 年
開始發展 Google Reader，那時正是 RSS 與部落格興起的黃金年代，但是該產品與商業
化無緣，Chris Wetherell 說 Google 不曾嘗試將服務的人氣轉換成營收，從結果來看，
這個產品並沒有挺過實驗階段，成為一個真正的商品。

Google Reader 被關閉的看法：2
講白了 Google Reader 從來都沒有直接為 Google 帶來什麼收入（當然，還是有
Feedburner 或 AdSense for Feeds），而且那也不是產品的目的。
