Intel SSD將全面轉向144層3D QLC閃存:PLC研發中

在QLC閃存的商用上,Intel和曾經的親密戰友美光(英睿達)步子最靠前,660p、P1系列
都在渠道開賣了很長一段時間。
日前,Intel非易失性存儲解決方案負責人Rob Crooke透露,Intel的QLC SSD出貨量超
1000萬。
她同時公佈,基於144層3D QLC閃存(內部命名為Arbordale Plus技術,家族第四代閃存
)的SSD(代號Keystone Harbor)會在今年底出貨,Intel準備在2021年內將整個SSD產品
線都遷移到144層閃存芯片上。

不僅如此,Intel確認,容量密度更高的PLC閃存(5bit/cell)也在緊張研發中。
此前,東芝(西數/鎧俠)也預告了PLC閃存的在研計畫。
雖然從理論上來說,PLC閃存的讀寫壽命較QLC會進一步下滑,但顆粒不行、主控來湊,這
方面Intel還是頗具實力的。況且,假設其它條件不變,144層3D閃存較Intel現行的96層
,容量將提升50%,也就是最快年底就能以現在1TB的價格買到1.5TB的Intel原廠SSD了,
如此實實在在的優惠想必更能打動多數消費者。
另外值得一提的是,Intel的QLC閃存芯片主要在中國大連工廠生產。
