對於板卡類的玩家來說，相信看到LucidLogix廠商應該不會陌生吧，之前微星曾發表相關
的電腦主機板，實現了GPU切換的機能。說起來與NVIDIA的Optimus技術有異曲同工之妙，
只是NV的這個技術見於筆電，而LucidLogix則是在電腦主機板上看到（當然，也不會只有
NV的顯卡才行）。

在這次CES展上，LucidLogix會透過虛擬化軟體來展示AMD或NVIDIA在Intel Sandy Bridge
平台上內顯之間的切換。當然，這技術也支援DirectX 11。目前這個測試版本被稱為「
Virtu」，將出現於第二代Core i3/i5/i7機種上。不過是有系統上要求的，重點只有一個
，就是螢幕要直接接在Sandy Bridge平台主機板的輸出埠上（DVI、HDMI等等）。廠商提
到，已經給世界各個ODM / OEM廠商測試過了，看來在明年很快就會在該平台的電腦上看
到這樣的軟體出現。

Called Virtu, the Lucid GPU virtualization software is able to assign tasks
in real time to the best available graphics resource based on power,
performance and features considerations, with no need for additional hardware.

The technology is designed for next-generation Intel’s Core i3/i5/i7
microprocessors with Sandy Bridge core as well as AMD Radeon and Nvidia
GeForce DirectX 11-class graphics processing units. The company did not
specify with exact GPUs are supported. One of the compulsory system
requirement is to always connect the display screen directly to the
motherboard’s Sandy Bridge display output (DVI, HDMI, etc). Another one is
the usage of Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

Interested parties can evaluate a demo version of Lucid Virtu immediately and
a beta version will be available in January 2011. In addition, the software
will be demonstrated privately during the Consumer Electronics Show next week
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
