有關這種MB/socket side電容的選用,最終會影響Power Delivery Network PDN的結果
什麼是PDN? 簡單說就是去看某些工作頻率下供應電流的能力,下面這篇寫的還蠻好的

最終就是去看他的等效阻抗是多少,越低的阻抗能提供越高的電流(看工作頻率)
下面來看某兩家的電容,哪兩家就不講了我也不知道
1. 六顆Panasonic SP Cap

因為SP Cap沒辦法從照片看出高度,所以用比較貴的LR來算一顆約USD$0.742/ reel

2. 六組MLCC

因為手邊沒有NV的design guide 所以先粗淺的看,總共有兩種顏色,看顏色看不出規格
以Murata 0805來說就有22uF 47uF兩組選擇 (不會是10uF因為會改用0603比較便宜)
22uF 4V X7U, USD 0.079/reel

47uF 4V X6S, USB 0.115/reel

所以在MLCC組以最低的22uF*10來說就是0.79,以各半來說就是0.97
----算錢分隔線----
回到PDN來說,SP Cap的ESR是4.5m ohm(100Khz),Murata 22/47uF都是2m ohm(100Khz)
更別說MLCC組是十顆下去並聯,阻抗更低(模擬PDN沒辦法直接用並聯電阻的公式來算)
另外一個重要的spec是ripple current,單顆SP Cap是8.5A,但是單顆MLCC就6.3A
更別說SP Cap還有更便宜的SX ESR是9m ohm,ripple curret才3A,反正外觀看不出來

以電氣特性來說換成SP cap沒什麼好處,充其量只有等效容值差不多而已
再考量到這次是三星8nm,整體的功耗上升,瞬間電流也大幅上升,PDN沒弄好就這麼嚴重
另外也不用說偷料啦,在這個產業的人都知道這幾年MLCC有多貴有多難買
但這關我屁事,賣的比人貴料又沒人好不就欠人靠北嗎... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
