SAM神技支持CPU顯卡合體 AMD希望與NVIDIA、Intel合作

10月份發佈RX 6000系列顯卡的時候,AMD還推出了一項新技術,名為“智能訪問顯存”
(Smart Access Memory/SAM)技術,可以讓銳龍5000與RX 6000顯卡合體提升性能。
SAM技術解決了CPU與GPU之間的一個瓶頸問題。
在傳統的基於Windows的計算機系統中,處理器一次只能訪問256MB顯存 (VRAM),因此限
制了系統性能。
通過AMD Smart Access Memory,數據通道得到擴展以充分發揮GPU顯存的潛力,從而利用
PCI Express帶寬消除了性能提升的瓶頸,此功能將為用戶提供更好的遊戲體驗。

按照AMD公佈的數據,SAM技術在銳龍5000+RX 6000顯卡上可提升5-11%的性能,效果還是
非常優秀的。
在AMD發佈SAM技術之後,NVIDIA這邊也傳來研發類似技術的消息,該技術支持RTX 30系顯
卡,而且可以同時支持AMD、Intel處理器平台。
對於當前的局面,AMD副總裁、Radeon部門總經理Scott Herkelman表示,SAM技術上與
NVIDIA進行合作的討論已經在進行中,他們希望也能對Intel開放。
考慮到SAM技術需要顯卡及主板BIOS的配合才行,所以AMD、NVIDIA及Intel三方合作是有
必要的,這樣才能讓玩家自由組合,A卡+IU、A卡+AU、AU+N卡、N卡+I等等,而不是侷限
某個平台。
