WD 成功開發64層3D QLC SSD - 3C

WD今天宣布成功開發了四比特單元的閃存顆粒(Four-Bits-Per-Cell,BiCS3 X4)
也就是所謂的QLC,用於旗下的64層3D閃存產品。
此前,X4已經用於2D閃存的產品,在SSD小型化的當下
通過3D也就是向上發展,可以在有限的空間內集成更大的存儲量。
由此,單晶片的存儲密度為768Gb(96GB),此前64層TLC是512Gb。
當然,QLC的理論壽命(可擦寫150次,TLC是1500次、MLC是1萬次)
和讀寫性能不及TLC,遑論MLC/SLC。只是成本更低,容量更大
在存儲顆粒“洛陽紙貴”的當下,更具有現實意義。
同時WD表示,他們已經將TLC和QLC的性能差異縮小到可忽略的程度。
