目前 9 系列公版上已知 NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor, M.2) 插槽有兩個:
A. Socket type 2 for WLAN, BT, WIGIG (Wireless Gigabit Alliance)
整合 1 組 eDP (Embedded DisplayPort) 供 WIDI (Wireless Display) 使用
2 組 PCIe x 1 (WLAN & WIGIG 各用一組)
1 組 NFC (Near Field Communication) 保留線路
B. Socket type 3 for SSD
提供 1 組 PCIe x 4 其中線路可與 SATA Express 或 SATA 共用
目前已知的 M.2 WLAN (Intel Wireless-AC 3160) 卡有 KeyA(防呆) & KeyE(遮斷 WIDI)
未來應該會推出支援 WIDI 的 WIGIG 卡吧 (笑
目前的 M.2 SSD 是透過 KeyB 來遮斷支援 PCIe x 4 (卡王 Samsung XP941 就是x4),
當 M.2 SSD 有 KeyB 時只有四種使用案例:
1. SATA
2. SATA Express
3. PCIe x 1
4. PCIe x 2
這接頭真是泛用啊 (笑
附帶一提:CPU 一共提供三組 DDI (Digital Display Interface),
1. Port B: 拿去做 HDMI 實體接頭
2. Port C: 拿去做 Thunderbolt (mini DisplayPort)
3. Port D: 拿去做 WIDI eDP (Embedded DisplayPort)
