eSATA的實作(r2.5)必須建立在擁有3Gbit/s的SATA(r2.0)以上才行
換言之，SATA1的任何版本是不具備官方認定熱插拔外接能力的，在規格上就不對

但顯然某些廠商在還沒成熟前（2005前）可能會把線拉出去，提供變形的eSATA
這就跟改機一樣很難說會有什麼事情...
