ZDNET網站報導,英特爾(Intel)在12日舉行的開發者論壇(IDF)上表示,其研究團隊相信已
找到10奈米晶片製造方法,未來可藉此生產耗電更少且效能更高的晶片。
英特爾科技製造事業群的製程主任Mark Bohr表示,14奈米技術現已進入完全開發階段,準
備在2013年底進入量產,目前正在進行10奈米製程研究,且看來已經找出了生產方法。
他表示,10奈米製程可能需要仰賴眾多實驗性的技術,包括光子、石墨烯、材料合成與極
紫外光(EUV) 等。他還指出,雖然採用極紫外光技術會比較好,但成本要比採用浸潤式微
影技術」(Immersion Lithography) 高出許多,且目前在10奈米製程應用極紫外光技術碰
到困難。
英特爾現準備用22奈米製程生產Ivy Bridge和Haswell晶片,之後計會在2013年稍晚或2014
年初轉至14奈米。 Mark Bohr表示,製程開發需要龐大投資,不故也能帶來可觀的經濟效
益。
晶片製程決定電晶體可植入的密度與耗電,愈小的製程可產出效能愈高、越省電的晶片。
英特爾的研究團對現在也甚至在尋找7奈米和5奈米製程的解決方案,不過恐怕還要等上相
當長的時間,因為10奈米預計要到2015年才會用於量產。
英特爾的對手ARM將晶片專利授權出去,目前主要由三星、台積電和GlobalFoundries生產
,超微(AMD)則是與GlobalFoundries合作。英特爾在製程技術上領先3年,且看來還會繼續
保持領先優勢。
