An Asus partner store in Switzerland was spotted listing pricing and possible release dates for what appears to be an AMD Ryzen 4000 refresh of the Asus TUF Gaming laptop series. The e-commerce outlet on the Buyoda network lists a number of Asus FA506II, FA506IV, and FA706II models in stock, featuring both Ryzen 5 4600H and Ryzen 7 4800H with differing graphics configurations. Pricing varies between 1094 Swiss Francs (US$1114) to 1593 Swiss Francs (US$ 1622).
Remarkably, the store listings even mention deliver dates. The "next possible delivery date" for all three Ryzen 4000-equipped models is April 3rd. This correlates with other rumors indicating an April 2020 launch window for the Ryzen 4000 liuneup.
What are some of the configurations we're looking at?
The entry-level FA506II-HN195T: featuring a Ryzen 5 4600H, GTX 1650 graphics, 512 GB SSD paired with 16 GB of RAM, and a 15.6 in FHD display, priced at US$1114.
The midrange FA706II-H7005T: sporting a Ryzen 7 4800H, GTX 1650 graphics, a 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM, and a 17.3 in FHD display, priced at US$1270.
The upper-midrange FA506IV-AL032T: with the Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060, a 1 TB SSD and 16 GB of RAM, and a 15.6 in FHD display, priced at US$1622.
The Ryzen 5 4600H features 6 Zen 2 cores and 12 threads, with a 3 GHz base clock, 4 GHz boost clock, and 45W TDP. This means performance that's more or less on par with the desktop Ryzen 5 3600. The Ryzen 7 4800H, meanwhile, sports 8 Zen 2 cores and 16 threads, with a 2.9 GHz base clock, 4.2 GHz boost clock,and the same 45W TDP. The additional cores might mean that the 4800H reaches a lower all-core boost than the 4600H.
The 4600H-equipped FA506II goes head to head with i5-9300H-equipped laptops like the Dell Inspiron 15 7591, while the 4800H-equipped FA506IV goes up against the i7-9750H-powered models like the MSI GF65.
As it stands, pricing is a bit higher for these Ryzen 4000 models than their Coffee Lake-equipped counterparts. Keep in mind, though, that the retail in question is Swiss and rest of the world pricing is likely to be a bit lower.
